One response to “STAND UP AGAINST WAL-MART, Austin”

  1. Dear Sara and all,

Good luck with your protest against Wal Mart! I enjoy shopping there tremendously, but must admit that there must be reasonable limits to the number of such stores.

While I was living in Laredo, Texas, I was very happy for the addition of one more Wal Mart store. This put an end to my runs to the sole store there at extremely early hours to avoid horrendous throngs of customers.

However, the construction of one here in Pickerington, Ohio, to my knowledge, has been successfully stampeded thanks to the efforts of many faithful area residents. We already have one about 2 miles from my home in an adjoining community which serves us all well. All of us wish to keep our community the pleasant, homespun place we know and love despite the fact it is continually mushrooming.

I assume community leaders are pondering similar issues in Austin. Please keep your area as distinctive as always so many more folks will want to live there. Take care!
