this is chuck rainey…he has played bass with aretha franklin to elton john…he’s awesome…when i went up to meet him after he spoke on saturday, when i introduced myself, he said, “oh, i’ve played with you!” and, indeed, he had at a show in fort worth at bass auditorium… a small orchestra had been put together several years ago to back me for the texas film commission’s aware program…and he was the bassist!
