My Simple Thoughts on the Death Penalty

I’m not sure how killing anyone ever solves anything…for anyone. No matter who is being murdered, or who is being put to death, there are
grieving family members, there are children left without parents, there are loved ones and friends left to ponder in the heartache of, “What was solved?”

I’m someone who wants to start a dialogue. That’s all. I don’t have the answers. I simply want to get Texas talking about the death penalty
because we are the state with the greatest number of executions, and, yet, no one wants to talk about what it means.

I hope you will come out and join me at the “Music For Life” events that will be happening across our state for the next twelve months…come ask questions, come meet
family members of murder victims, come meet family members of those executed on death row. Come hear music and get involved at the same time. I’ll post
the cities and locations here as we get them all confirmed…

This isn’t easy. In fact, it’s a scary. But the conversation must begin, and I hope it begins with you and me.

In Grace,
Sara

    Hi Sara,

This is the first time I have visited your blog. It is very interesting! I have somewhat mixed feelings about the death penalty. I can definitely understand your thoughts and where you are coming from. Let me say that I respect and appreciate the way you present the problem here. You’re not being judgmental, but rather expressing your thoughts and asking for others to respond in kind. This demonstrates what a kind, genuine person you are. I hope others will join in on the discussion of this timely and controversial topic. There are no easy answers.

    Kind Regards,

    Mark Louis
