Actors hear ‘Angels Sing’

Connie Britton, Harry Connick Jr. top holiday film

Connie Britton and Harry Connick Jr. are toplining holiday family film “When Angels Sing,” directed by Tim McCanlies (“Secondhand Lions”).
Producing are Elizabeth Avellan (the “Spy Kids” series) via her EYA Prods., Fred Miller’s FWM Prods. (“For All Mankind”) and Shannon McIntosh (“Inglourious Basterds”).

Kris Kristofferson, Chandler Canterbury (“After.Life.”), Willie Nelson, Fionnula Flanagan, Dana Wheeler-Nicholson and Lyle Lovett round out the cast. The film will also feature appearances by Texas musicians Bob Schneider, Charlie Sexton, Sara Hickman and Ray Benson.

Lou Berney adapted the Christmas novel of the same name by Turk Pipkin (“The Sopranos”), who will also appear in the film.

Connick stars a father whose holiday spirit was crushed by an accident when he was a child. When his son faces a tragedy, a mysterious man instills in him the courage to find the joy he lost.

“When Angels Sing” recently began production in and around Austin and Bastrop, Texas.
