Last year, Austin’s own Sara Hickman was surprised to find herself named the State Musician of Texas. Deciding to make use of her newfound status, she gathered together some 38 Texas musicians to record cover versions of her songs, all in the name of charity. The resulting double CD, The Best of Times, is set to be released soon, with all profits going to one of Sara’s favorite organizations, Theater Action Project.
The Best of Times will be available online and at Waterloo records soon.
A CD release party/concert will be held on Saturday, February 5, at the Paramount Theatre, and will feature performances by Robert Earl Keen, Ruthie Foster, Patrrice Pike, Monte Warden and Colin Boyd, After Math, Colin Gilmore, LZ Love, and Christine Albert and Chris Gage; the after party will feature White Ghost Shivers.
