Lyrics

iolana
iolana do you wanna put on-a your pajamas
and go down to the store with me?
iolana do you wanna put on-a your pajamas
and see what there is to see?

oh, we needa some more cantaloupe...to eat!
we needa some more flowers...to smell!
we needa some more soy milk...to drink!
we needa some more cat food for the cats!

iolana do you wanna saddle up the llama
and ride outta west with me?
iolana do you wanna saddle up the llama
and see what there is to see...

oh, we'll see some sunsets... so pink!
we'll see-a some canyons... so deep!
we'll sleep in the big trees... so green!
we'll swim in some water, oh so cool!

iolana do you wanna go over to botswana
and make-a some new friends with me?
iolana do you wanna go over to botswana
and see what there is to see...

oh, we'll play with the children... so fun!
we'll ride on a camel... two humps, not one!
we'll try some new foods... yum yum!
and we'll send postcards to everyone!

Cantaloupe
Cantaloupe! Oh, I love cantaloupe
Cantaloupe! Just give me cantaloupe

Oh, I would put it on a rope and I would swing it round my head
And I would eat it every day
I'd eat it first thing out of bed
Just give me cantaloupe
'Cuz I love cantaloupe

Oh, there are days I just can't cope
Then I remember not to mope
Cuz I have lots of juicy hope
When I eat cantaloupe
Just give me cantaloupe

I'd put it in an envelope
So I could share it with the Pope
Except that he would just say, "nope"
He won't eat cantaloupe!
He won't eat cantaloupe!

Oh, I would put it on a shelf
And save it all just for myself!
But it's more fun for you and me
To share it with the family

Oh, we love cantaloupe!
Just give us cantaloupe
Yes, we love cantaloupe!
Oh, honeydew....

Middle of a Little Country Road
As I was walking down the middle of a little country road
I found a baby snake in the middle of the road
So I put him in my pocket with my little baby toad
In my pocket with my little baby toad

As I walking down the middle of a little country road
I saw a little griddle stuck in the middle of the road
So I stuffed it in my pocket with my little baby toad
In my pocket with my snake and my toad

As I was walking down the middle of a little country road
I saw my old Uncle Jake in the middle of a lake
And he hollered from his boat, "I've a hankerin' for a cake"
So I said, "I'm feeling awful, cuz all that I can offer is a waffle
Or a toad or a snake!"

Well, I grabbed his hand as he jumped on land,
Barking a command, "That sounds great!"

So we had a cup of tea,
My uncle and me
With the toad and the snake and the waffles that we ate
Oh, we ate and we ate
Until the snake's belly ached...
And he curled up under a stone and
The toad phoned home, then he hopped away alone
While my Uncle Jake sailed as the sun still shone

I decided I would walk it
Back home with empty pockets
Just a riddle that had lost its load...
You never know what you'll find
In an imaginative mind
In the middle of a little country road
In the middle of a little country road

Look At Me
put down the paper
hang up the phone
please see me as more than a dog
you throw a bone

let's go for a walk
yea, let's go outside
no I don't want to hop in the car
and go for a ride

I need a genuine encounter
of the first degree
I need you to stop what you're doing
and look at me...look at me

look at me look at me look at me look at me
look at me look at me look at me look at me now!

you're awfully busy
got things to do
just give me a moment of time
with you

I've got all these ideas I want you to see
there's a person who's growing up
inside of me

I need your full attention
and I deserve it, too
I'm somebody important
I'm a part of you
a part of you

look at me look at me look at me look at me
look at me look at me look at me look at me now!

Please don't be angry
I'm just a kid
I'm only doing the things
that you once did

Louise
When I found my cat Louise
She was totally covered in fleas
So I gave her a bath, made her laugh
And she came to live with me

Louise, Louise...My crazy cat Louise
Louise, Louise, I love my fat Louise

I call her Fat Louise
Cuz she eats everything but peas
She likes pizza and feathers
Cereal and sweaters
And yesterday she swallowed my keys

Louise, Louise...My crazy cat Louise
Louise, Louise...I love my fat Louise

Louise, Louise, Louise...She's such a great cat to squeeze
Louise

My funny cat Louise...Just loves to drink chamomile tea
She takes a few sips, then licks her lips...and says,
“Can I have some more please?”

Louise, Louise...My crazy cat Louise
Louise, Louise...I love my fat Louise

One day my cat Louise...she frightened herself with a sneeze ACHOO
She jumped so high...up in the sky
And floated away on a breeze

Louise, Louise...my crazy cat Louise
Louise, Louise...I love my fat Louise

Louise, Louise...my crazy cat Louise
Louise, Louise...my big old fat Louise

Pledge
I pledge allegiance to my family
and to the love that created me

I promise to honor and respect
my liberties at hand

And all that is wondrous in each of us.
To listen, and to be listened to

To help, and ask for help in return
To right wrongs

To be a friend
And to recognize that each and every child is

deserving of love, shelter, education, healthy food,
freedom from terror and fear

and an entire life
of liberty and justice for all.

Radiation Man
he came in a flying saucer...
he landed in the middle of the day in the middle of the
little town
oh, the silver side door opened
with a whoosh ping-pang klunk kind of sound
people were running around
they were giant ants
lost within their own reaction

out came a shining silver man...
silver feet, silver head, silver manicured hands
as he opened his eyes... he smiled with surprise at the sight before him
without meaning any harm.... he eagerly waved "hello!"
but as he did he released a radioactive glow...

CHORUS:

radiation man...aah...radiation man...aah...radiation man...aah.
he's having a bad day day day day day day day
having a bad day

well, the swarthy head honcho of this town was the minister of caffeine
the minister was shocked when his secretary burst into the office,
screaming, "it's a giant man... and he's getting out of a frying pan!"
they rushed outside to see... an insane scene from a picture show
a silver saucer and a silver man... and flowers all around still smoking
"oh, dear, what is this?!" he cried... "look at my geraniums, they've all been fried!!!"

well, the minister ran back inside... he had to think for awhile while he had to hide
he rang up his sister, irene.... a down to earth woman with the endowments of a homecoming queen
irene raced frantically down... to the climatic square, where....
dead as the beat of a clock... her eyes locked on a silver hunk of man....
now, this is what the space man saw: a multi-colored, multi-stacked human package
he whistled loud and he whistled low... irene turned as red as a christmas bow!
irene's heart fluttered in time... to her lovely lashes
but the spaceman's kiss turned irene's blissful body
into
a
pile
of
ashes....

now if you travel in space
for business or pleasure or to visit an alien race
just remember this tale of woe
for as i have mentioned
you could be well-intentioned
or...
you could be the foe
simply by saying, "hello!"
yes, you could be the foe....

aah....
aah....
aah....
aah.....

It's Fall
It's fall, it's fall
The leaves are falling down
It's fall, it's fall
They're falling all around

Yellow and red
Orange and brown

It's fall, it's fall
The leaves are falling down
It's fall, it's fall
They're falling all around

Winter is coming
And up in a tree
I hear an old owl and she's calling to me,
“The seasons are changing
And soon you will see...
That every leaf will leave every tree!”

It's fall, it's fall
The leaves are falling down
It's fall, it's fall
They're falling all around

Red Wagon
If you wanna go crazy, be the clown
Be the laughing stock all over town
That's your red wagon
That's your red wagon
So just keep draggin' your red wagon along

If you stick your nose someplace it don't belong
Doncha come to me if things go wrong
That's your red wagon
That's your red wagon
So just keep draggin your red wagon along

When you're making your bed ... don't forget who'll do the lyin' there
And when you butter your bread
Don't expect me to eat your share

If you wanna play the horses...blow your dough
Doncha come to me if they don't show
That's your red wagon...that's your red wagon
So just keep draggin your red wagon along

Now you've finally learned you'll get burned if you play with fire
So don't come runnin to me... you can't use me for your spare tire

If you wanna sing me love songs...know your key
Don't you come singin' the blues to me

That's your red wagon...oh, that's your red wagon
So just keep draggin your red wagon along

That's your red wagon...your red wagon...oh, your red wagon...yea, your red wagon
So just keep draggin your red wagon along...

Rainstick
Many, many moons ago, our people's nation was deprived of rain for days upon end.
The grasses grew brown, the leaves fell from the trees and our creek beds dried up and left the fishes gasping.

My forefathers and mothers became restless. Without water, they knew they, too, would fade back into the earth's dust. But my people were also patient and wise and knew that Father Rain would send his tears when he was moved by a certain sound. They were determined to place their teepees and train their horses and generally carry on until Father Rain let down his waters.

However, there was one little boy, Running Without Fear, who grew impatient.
Every night he heard his baby sister, Tiny Feet, crying from thirst, and he decided he must do something to get Father Rain's attention.

Running Without Fear's grandfather was a great medicine man, so one afternoon he snuck into his grandfather's teepee and stole his grandfather's medicine stick.
The stick was heavy with power, and decorated with beads and feathers. Running Without Fear ran to the middle of the dry grasses surrounding his family's circle of teepees, raised the stick above his head and shouted, "Father Rain---you have abandoned your peoples!!! Let down your waters!"
Running Without Fear waited, staring hard at the sky, but nothing happened. Again, he raised his grandfather's medicine stick and yelled, "Father Rain! I will not leave until you let down your waters!" This time the sky started to turn dark and the clouds began to angrily swirl. "Aha!" laughed Running Without Fear. "I have your attention, Father Rain!

Now LET YOUR WATERS DOWN!" This time, Father Rain became annoyed, and he angrily threw a lightning bolt towards the little boy.

"AAAAAAAH!" hollered Running Without Fear, and he held the medicine stick tightly in front of his face, but he held his ground. The lightning bolt hit the top of the stick and BZZZZZ-ZAP! it went right down the middle of the stick and into the ground.

Running Without Fear opened his eyes, and with wonder he looked right down the middle of the stick.

Now Running Without Fear had an idea. He was not one to give up easily.
He started to run around the field, looking for seeds and nuts and rice and beans.
He made a little pile of the dried things and began to look for large leaves.
He took one leaf and tied it to the end of the stick and proceeded to fill the stick with the dried seeds and nuts. Then he took another leaf and covered the other end of the stick. Now his grandfathers medicine stick made sound when he shook it.

"Aha!" said the little boy. "Now I will show you, Father Rain!" And Running Without Fear began to dance. And he shook that stick and danced and the air was filled with the sound of chooka-chooka-chooka-chooka....And to Running Without Fear's amazement, this time when the sky grew dark, he felt the kiss of a raindrop on his cheek. Father Rain was happy with tears, for the sound of the chooka-chooka made him smile. Running Without Fear danced faster and harder, and the waters fell from the sky. Soon the creeks began to flow, and the earth began to turn green, and Running Without Fear danced in the mud, laughing and shaking his stick.

The peoples of our nation came running out into the rain and they laughed and danced, too, and even the little boy's grandfather cheered when he saw how Running Without Fear had saved his family.

And this is why we call these magic sticks "rain sticks". We decorate them with things that are precious to us, and we share them with Father Rain, and he keeps our sweet earth wet so things can grow.

I Wish You Well
A carousel to wish you well
Spinning round and round
Until you've ridden to your heart's content
And hopped back on the ground

I wish you well... I wish you love
I wish you all I can
I wish you peace... I wish you hope
Until we meet again

Blessings to the birds I hear
Flying up above
Bringing song into our lives
Nestling in our hearts with love

I wish you well... I wish you love
I wish you all I can
I wish you peace... I wish you hope
Until we meet again

Oh, this old world can seem so big
Everywhere you go
But we can choose to become a friend
With anyone we know

I wish you well... I wish you love
I wish you all I can
I wish you peace... I wish you hope
Until we meet again...
Until we meet again
Until we meet, my friends…
